SUNLIT STORIES

YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT EXPLAINED

Hey, my name is BECCY

Thank you soooo much for trusting me to capture this beautiful time in your life. I'm so happy you booked and so excited to create some magic with you!

If you're feeling a little nervous, especially about the nude side of things, please don't be! It's completely normal, and there's absolutely no pressure to bare it all. Whether you want to shoot fully clothed, completely nude or a little bit of both, it's entirely up to you.

These sessions are super relaxed. We'll have a play, chase some beautiful light and see what feels natural. You don't need to know how to pose or what to do with yourself. I'll guide you through the whole thing, and we'll take everything at your pace.

This little guide covers everything you need to know before the day, but if I've missed anything, just ask me. X

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Max three outfit options (or none at all if you're planning on shooting nude!)

  • Towels if you're happy to get wet

  • A robe or something easy to slip on and off, especially if we're shooting nude as people walk by (towel is also fine for this)

  • Water and a little snack, especially for those early mornings

  • A warm layer for afterwards, particularly for sunrise sessions

  • Potentially a hair brush if your hair gets wet and you need to brush it out

  • If your partner or little ones are joining, bring anything they might need too - clothing options, snacks, water, warm clothes for after.

WHAT TO WEAR

This is where we can have a little fun!

I love a mix of styles for maternity sessions. Think low jeans with belly out,  an open button-up shirt, togs, flowy robes, oversized shirts, winter cosies, sheer fabrics or absolutely nothing at all!

Nude maternity is a huge part of my work and something I absolutely LOVE capturing, but there's never any pressure to bare it all. Some women choose to shoot completely nude, others prefer a mix of outfits and nude images, and some stay fully clothed. It's entirely up to you!

If you're bringing your partner or little ones along, I love keeping things relaxed and natural. Think kids in their togs / nude buts sitting on your belly, partners in boardies or a simple tee and pants. Or maybe a cute little outfit for the kids that complements whatever you're wearing at the time. Whatever feels like you and works with the style we're creating!

I'd recommend keeping it to two outfit options, with three being the absolute max so we have plenty of time to shoot without feeling rushed. But if you'd rather stick to just one outfit or shoot completely nude, that's absolutely fine too! We can have a play and see what works on the day. X

Most importantly, bring your own natural style to the session. I've linked a Pinterest board with some looks I personally love, but this is YOUR shoot, so you do you! I want you to absolutely love your images and feel like yourself.

OUTFITS IDEAS HERE

And please, if you're stuck on what to wear, just message me! You can even send through a little flat lay of the outfits you're thinking and we can work it out together.

LOCATION

If we haven't already locked in a location, I usually like to wait until a few days before our session to check the weather, particularly the wind!

The Sunshine Coast has so many beautiful little spots, and choosing the right beach depending on the conditions can make such a difference.

I'll always try to find somewhere close to where you're staying or living where possible, and I'll keep in touch in the lead-up to our session to let you know exactly where we'll be meeting.

NUDE MATERNITY & PRIVACY

If you're wanting to capture some nude maternity images, there's just a little something I want you to know beforehand!

I always do my best to find quieter stretches of beach where we can have a little more privacy. Sunrise is usually my favourite time for nude sessions, as there tend to be fewer people around and the light is just beautiful.

That being said, it's pretty much impossible to find a beach these days with absolutely nobody around, so please be aware that we may have people walking past during our session.

But don't stress! We'll keep a towel or robe close by that you can easily pop on if someone is approaching, and simply wait for a little break in people before continuing.

We'll take everything at your pace, and if you're not feeling comfortable with something, that's absolutely fine. There's never any pressure to do anything you're not comfortable with.

One little tip: Try not to wear anything super tight-fitting on the way to your session (tight undies, bras, leggings etc.) as they can leave lines on your skin. If you’re wanting to do any nude shots, these can show up in the photos and can be tricky to edit out.

WEATHER

I'm always keeping an eye on the weather leading up to our session.

If it's looking rainy or the conditions aren't great, I'm more than happy to be flexible where possible and look at changing our date.

I know this isn't always possible, especially if you're travelling or have organised time off, but we'll always have a chat and I'll do my absolute best to accommodate where I can.

Sometimes a little cloud cover can be beautiful too, so we don't necessarily need perfect sunshine!

YOUR IMAGES

My editing style is natural, with beautiful colours, soft tones and all those little details that make your images feel like you.

Your finished gallery will be delivered within 4–6 weeks of your session.

I put so much love into editing each gallery and can't wait for you to see your images!

And just so you know, your privacy is super important to me! I'll always check in with you after your session to see if you're happy for any of your images to be shared. Nothing is ever shared without your permission, and there's absolutely no pressure to say yes. X

A LITTLE INSPO

If you'd like, feel free to send through some inspo images before our session! These can be from my own work or another photographer's, I really don't mind. It's always lovely to get an idea of the styles and images you're drawn to before we shoot.

Otherwise, I'm more than happy to just go with the flow, have a play and see what magic we create on the day! X

YOU'RE READY <3

Please don't spend your session worrying about how to pose, what to do with your hands or whether you're doing things right.

I promise, you don't need to know what you're doing! That's my job.

We'll have a play, chase some beautiful light and create a little magic together. Whether you're feeling confident or a little nervous, we'll take everything at your pace.

Your only job is to relax, embrace that beautiful body of yours and enjoy this special time.

I'll take care of the rest. X
